In this course, high school social studies students will learn about the sinking of the R.M.S. Lusitania and the possible effects it had on the United States's entrance into World War I. Students will be looking at primary documents including newspaper articles, political cartoons, enlistment propaganda, speeches, and letters, as well as videos and articles about the subject. By the end of the course, students should be able to look at the documentation and make an argument as to whether the sinking of the Lusitania effected the United States's decision to enter World War I. They should be able to use adequate evidence to to support their opinions in a paper, PowerPoint, or other method.
