This class is going to be designed as the first few lessons in a 7th grade unit on ratio and proportion. They will have learned about ratio and proportions in 5th and 6th grade previously. This will build on that knowledge and add in complex fractions as well as cross-multiplying.
Objectives:
Students will be able to find a unit rate.
Students will be able to simplify a complex fraction.
Students will know the terms ratio, proportion, unit rate, complex fraction & cross multiply
Student will know that proportions are two ratios that are equal.
Students will use their knowledge of proportions to design a bedroom to scale.
