American authors experiences a period of great productivity and prosperity as the wrote and defined the American literary identity.
In this multi-week lesson, you will be exploring a 19th century American author of your choice. You will learn about their work and why it has survived the test of time. Each student will come away from this lesson with a greater appreciation of the stylistic characteristics that allowed their author to make his or her mark on the American identity.
